Barcelona WtE Plant

LAB is pleased to announce the new contract for installation of a DeNOx system for the 3 lines of TERSA’s Waste-to-Energy Plant in Spain.

This Contract with TERSA covers the full Engineering and Design, Procurement, Installation and Commissioning of a DeNOx system . This WtE plant has been built 40 years ago and can treat 360 000 ton of waste per year. The project is the strong ambition of Metropolitana de Barcelona to reduce the level of air pollution and improve air quality for Barcelona inhabitants.

The plant is located close to Barcelona, just in front of the beach side.

The installed process is a well-advanced and efficient tail-End SCR unit consisting in Gas/Gas Exchanger, SCR casing with catalysts, ID Fan, replacing of bag filters and all auxiliaries, allowing low flue gas emissions (NOx and NH3).

This contract represents the first LAB reference in Spain and LAB is proud to carry out this project together with our reliable partner IMASA, Ingenieria y proyectos SA.

TERSA is a public company that operates in the metropolitan area of Barcelona, its mission is to manage environmental services related to the circular economy, the valuation of municipal waste, the generation and commercialization of renewable energies, and the promotion of the commitment of the citizenship for the sustainability.

The company was initially founded on the 21st of February 1983. TERSA is a public limited company and its share capital is split between Barcelona Serveis Municipals and the Barcelona Metropolitan Area.
