Carbon Capture reduces the carbon footprint of facilities by capturing CO₂ before release into the atmosphere. The captured CO₂ is then either stored or utilized in various applications.
What is CO₂ Capture, Utilization, and Storage?
- Pre-treatment: Condition the flue gases before the Carbon Capture stage.

- Capture: Extract and separate the CO₂ from combustion gases.

- Conditioning: Adapt the CO₂ by purifying, compressing and liquefying it for transport or use.

- Utilization: Use the CO₂ (CCU) by valorizing it as a raw material in several industrial sectors.

- Storage: Inject and store the CO₂ (CCS) in geological storage or in some materials to prevent its release into the atmosphere.

Objective: Significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and help combat global warming.

Design Studies and Turnkey Approach for CARBON CAPTURE
Lab is proposing several project approaches for the realization of CO2 Capture plant.
PreFEED-FEED approach
The first approach consists on delivering project design studies (PRE-FEED and FEED: Front-End Engineering Design) helping in structuring and optimizing every project phase before to launch significant investment in the execution of the project.
- PRE-FEED (equivalent to Basic Engineering) provides the basic documentation and scenario analysis needed to launch the project, defines a first estimate of the overall cost, and establishes a general engaging schedule.

- FEED (equivalent to Detailed Engineering) delivers all the engineering documentation required for the equipment tendering, refines cost estimates, and reduces uncertainties for stakeholders.

Turnkey approach
The second LAB’s offer type is a turnkey approach (equivalent to EPC contract - Engineering, Procurement & Construction), tailored to the specific needs of the Clients. With strong expertise and long experience in delivery turn-key Flue Gas Treatment and Heat Recovery plants, LAB is well positioned to deliver such solutions.
