High-Efficiency Wet Scrubbing for Acid gases removal
For we don’t talk that we can offer limestone and caustic soda scrubbers
At LAB, we offer advanced wet flue gas treatment systems that provide highly effective removal of acid pollutants and with additional equipment also for dust, aerosols and other pollutants from flue gases downstream combustion processes.
These systems are particularly suited for:
- very high removal efficiency,
 - very low emissions and low reagent consumption,
 - where dry or semi-dry processes may not be sufficient.

Our wet systems are fully customized and often complement other technologies in a multi-stage treatment line, ensuring full compliance with emission regulations and optimized system performance.
How Wet Scrubbing Works
Wet systems operate by bringing the flue gas into contact with water by adding some reagents for alkaline reactions, which absorbs and neutralizes acid components such as SO₂, HCl, and HF, but also ammonia.

- Efficient removal of acid gases
 - Low reagent consumption
 - Excellent global performance in combination with dust removal, deNOx, or carbon injection systems (deDioxLAB ®)
 - Perfect as final step for integration of flue gas condensation for advanced heat recovery and in preparation of additional carbon capture steps

Key Components
- Quench tower: cools the flue gas and saturates them
 - Scrubber: contact between gas and liquid reagent for neutralization
 - Demister: removes entrained droplets
 - Waste water treatment (if needed): handles liquid effluents

Each installation is tailored to your specific industrial process, with options for single-stage or multi-stage scrubbing, and integration with existing pollution control lines.

Additional features:
- EFM, AFM: electroventuri modules or agglo-filtrating modules for fine dust and aerosol removal downstream the scrubber
 - DeDioxLAB ®: injection of activated coke into a specially designed wet scrubber for dioxins, furans and mercury removal

Advantages of LAB Wet Systems
- Very High removal efficiency for acid pollutants like SO₂, HCl, HF
 - Custom-built systems adapted to your process constraints
 - Modular design for easy integration with upstream or downstream technologies
 - Long term LAB experience using scrubber with different reagents for different applications

When Should You Use a Wet System?
Wet scrubbing is recommended when:
- Flue gas contains very high concentrations of acid pollutants
 - You aim to achieve ultra-low emission levels
 - Integration of condensation system (or preparation) to condensation and Carbon Capture)
 - Sludge incineration
 - Hazardous Waste

More Than Just a Scrubber
LAB’s wet systems are often combined with other proprietary technologies, such as dry / semi-dry systems for sludge incineration or for WtE as polishing scrubber.
Your Emissions, Under Control
Whether as a standalone unit or as part of a comprehensive flue gas treatment line, our wet systems offer maximum performance, durability, and regulatory compliance.
